One of the newer family friendly nature cafes in Chiang Mai, Chiangmai Valley offers an experience. What makes Chiangmai Valley Rainforest Cafe in Hang Dong, Chiang Mai so cool?
Well the first inkling that something magical is ahead, is the tunnel entrance. Adults will have to stoop down to get in and children will be wondering in excitement what lies within the tunnel. Once you come through, a magical and mystical world lights up in front of you!
The kids will be amazed by the fog that continuously rolls through the rainforest floor and be peering into the stream and under plants looking for something their imagination is telling them is there. As you get past this area, you will be lead towards a waterfall feature and the deer statues.
These are both great features for photo ops and give the illusion that wildlife would live here among the rainforest. From here you can climb up the stairs to the various seating areas.
Seating
The indoor seating area is towards the left hand side and takes you to a beautifully designed dining area with your choice of booth, fancy sofa, or table seating. And yes, they have high chairs!
Alternatively, you could head to the right and sit just above the rainforest and enjoy the view while you eat. There are misters here that will keep you cool.
Another seating choice is to sit on one of Chiang Mai’s only rooftop patios! This would be a good spot early in the morning and definitely a fabulous spot for sunset. I bet it’s a perfect place to watch the sunset in Chiang Mai!
When is the best time to go to Chiangmai Valley cafe?
Due to the cafe having indoor and outdoor seating, you could really go anytime! For good photos, you’ll want to go in the bright daylight hours and for the rooftop patio, you’ll probably find evening is best so you don’t melt up there in the sun.
What kind of food do they have?
Food
The food is so good! Often these nature cafes have food that pales in comparison to the surroundings, but not Chiangmai Valley. Their food is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! The menu has a mix of Thai and Western food at reasonable mid-range prices.
Drink
Now the drinks are something else! Below is a photo of their strawberry smoothie. Just look at that presentation! My daughter was pretty much full off of her drink alone and it cost just as much as other cafes usually charge.
