About an hour north of Chiang Mai is a GIANT waterslide
BMP Slider makes a great addition to tack onto a family day trip or staycation up in Mae Taeng. The kids will love the experience and there’s even a small section and pool for little kids as well so everyone can enjoy.
There seems to be some sort of trick to go faster on the slide so if you’ve got tubes or those boogie board things, bring them and test them out!
Getting to the giant waterslide at BMP Slider
As mentioned, this is best enjoyed as part of a trip around Mae Rim and Mae Taeng. There isn’t anything else here but the slide, so it’s not worth the 1 hour drive just for this. You could also check out Angel Waterfall Land or Pang Pao Beach, both places that tease you with water that you can’t get into, and then head to BMP Slider to actually cool off.
To get here though, you would drive straight north along the 107 then turn left onto the 1095. When the road forks, stick to the right and follow it up a ways until you see the sign.
The waterslide
It’s really quite long! How long? Well, I’m not great at estimating but maybe around 30m or so. The kids will get lots of exercise running back up to go again each time!
As I said, there’s a trick to go faster so if you wanted to, you could turn your time here into an impromptu learning and experimenting experience. The slide leads into a pretty deep body of water. The water here looks questionable in colour, but then you realize the blue paint has worn off which would give it that blue hue.
This mini-waterslide area for younger kids is just perfect. There are two little slides and the water is shallow for the smaller kids that are just getting comfortable and may find the giant slide a bit too much.
The surroundings
Even the nature around BMP Slider is incredible. You can also stay here, it’s a resort, although there are much nicer places to stay in Mae Taeng. There’s also a cafe where you can sit and overlook the rice fields.
Food and drink
Well, it’s not a place you’d come for a great meal. The drinks are ok but everything was overpriced.
Is it safe?
Yes. The slides are padded. My only gripe is that there is no where parents can watch their kids clearly. There is no shade anywhere besides the cafe, where you can’t see any slide action. So be prepared to get hot walking around watching the kids, especially at the mini-waterpark.
How much is BMP Slider?
From what I recall they have dual pricing. Foreigners pay about 100 baht each while Thais pay around 60 baht each. If you have Thai ID like a driver’s license, you can get in for Thai price.
