Eat surrounded by nature
When you enter Zombie Cafe, you’ll cross over the stream running through the landscape. At your request, or when the restaurant begins to get busy, the staff will put tables and chairs into the water itself.
When is the best time to go to Zombie Cafe?
You can relax with your feet in the cool waters and enjoy a cold drink or two nearly all year round. The kids will love being able to splash around and even go for a dip. During cool season (November – February) the water level is generally 30 cm deep in most parts, and gets even shallower during hot season as the water dries up from March-May. Within rainy season (June-October), the water level can get high and the current fast. Best to contact Zombie Cafe before you come during rainy season if you want to hang out in the water.
If eating in the water isn’t for you, there are plenty of other options. In the first building, your family can sit overlooking the stream below and observe the beautiful jungle around you.
Relax in a hammock
Or you can literally hang out in a hammock above the stream! It was a bit difficult to get into, but once you’ve settled in, it’s so comfortable. You may need a bit of help to get out!
Keep the kids entertained – play pool!
As you venture further through the restaurant, you’ll come across the kid friendly bar area where there’s a pool table available. The bar has a decent amount of choice as well.
Eat in a giant treehouse
Zombie Cafe has even more to offer! Out the back, near the toilets, is the enormous treehouse seating area. With three levels, each offers its own perspective of the surrounding nature. You never know what you might see!
What kind of food do they serve at Zombie Cafe?
A mix of Thai and Western food is available. The menu is actually really simple and kid friendly and it even has pictures of the actual food on offer. No guesswork required! The Western food menu has single size pizzas, fries, sausages, pastas and more. The Thai menu has delicious som tom salad, chicken, friend pork options and even crocodile! The food is priced around 150 baht per dish when averaged out.
Our daughter ordered a strawberry smoothie and it was one of the best ones we’ve ever tried. They also offer coffee, tea, and your choice of local beers. There’s even dessert! For more, see their menu.
How to get to the Zombie Cafe, Mae Rim?
The total journey time to get here is around 30 – 40 minutes from downtown. Simply drive north along the 107 Road (Chang Phueak Road) until you reach the 1096 Road. Turn left here and continue riving for about 10 minutes.
You’ll see signs for it on the right hand side. With so much to see and do out in Mae Rim, we recommend that if you don’t already have your own car, that you rent one. This way you and your family will have the freedom to explore and spend as much time as you want at each stop along the way.
