Chamcha Cafe
The above photo of a high chair does not do this place justice. Chamcha is a new cafe located in the foothills of Doi Kham. It is an incredible spot to enjoy the mountain scenery while the children play in the playground. Be sure to check this place out!
Viva Pizza
Run by a lovely local family, this restaurant is sure to please. Their menu is small allowing for attention to detail. They serve strictly Italian fare and put care into every plate and their pizza is yummy! You can often find their children running around and they enjoy playing with other kids eating at the restaurant. The kids can play in the small playground or sit in a high chair while you get some well earned parent time.
Ginger Farm
Ginger, as it’s affectionately known, has stolen the hearts of local families. It provides the perfect mix of family friendly and rustic fine dining – with high chairs included! The restaurant offers an incredible array of food in a farm setting that is so popular they opened a second location downtown called Ginger Farm Kitchen, although it is less family friendly.

Nics Restaurant and Playground
A definite go-to is Nics! Located south of the city in Hang Dong, this is a parent’s paradise. The kids will be off doing their own thing the entire time under the watchful eye of the attentive staff. Tiny tots will be safely tucked into a high chair while you enjoy a big glass of wine.
Sizzler
A popular buffet or a-la-carte option for lunch or dinner is Sizzler. It’s an international chain offering western style food in a western style atmosphere. There are wooden high chairs for kids to sit in at the table. Chiang Mai has two locations at both Central Malls; Central Airport and Central Festival.
Galae
Just up from the base of Doi Suthep is Galae restaurant. It overlooks a man-made lake and has a fantastic view of the city. Not only that, but it has one of the most stunning flower gardens. You can sit by the lake and enjoy your meal while the kids smell the flowers or enjoy their very high seat!
Tesco Food Court
Ok, so it’s not technically a restaurant, but it gets the job done and they have IKEA high chairs! This is such a life saver when you have to stand around waiting for your food to be ready and watch the runners. So far high chairs have only been witnessed in the Tesco Lotus Hang Dong location.
The House by Ginger
Owned and operated by the same people as Ginger Farm, this restaurant located near Tha Pae Gate is a quirky bistro. It’s another place that will treat you like family and make sure your children’s needs are met so everyone can enjoy a fabulous meal!
Triplets Eat and Play
Located out in Hang Dong, Triplets is a great place to spend with the family for a couple hours. This very family friendly restaurant has a playground, hammocks, and high chairs. They also serve wine and beer and have a kid friendly menu.
UN Irish Pub
The UN Irish is a favourite spot for families for many reasons. The staff are attentive to children, they have a back patio garden area, great food, and the best selection of sports via satellite in Chiang Mai. They have high chairs as well, although the chairs can’t lock in infants or toddlers. The high chairs are good for toddlers who can sit confidently on their own and aren’t prone to running around.
Street Pizza and the Wine House
A popular night spot, this restaurant may not initially appear family friendly from its photos, but they are very welcoming and accommodating to families with young children. Along with having high chairs, they also have a small indoor play area!
Hummus Chiang Mai inside the moat
Recently opened in May 2019, this restaurant is being raved about – not only for its incredible vegan friendly eats and good prices, but for being family friendly! Be sure to stop into Hummus for some healthy grub. It’s open daily from 12 pm to 11 pm and grab your little one(s) a high chair.

For family friendly seating they have large booths a large family can fit into along with high chairs for little ones. You’ll find Butter is Better just past the intersection at the end of Night Bazaar road heading away from the city.
NANA Jungle Cafe and Restaurant
This wonderful restaurant is hidden around the back and tucked in a corner of Chiang Mai 89 Plaza. It is just an amazing place with great food at great prices and with incredible service. They have indoor and outdoor seating and high chairs. Just a warning, the high chair is literally a high chair without any way to keep kids in place, so it’s best for older toddlers who can sit on their own. Otherwise, choose the booth style seating and have young ones sit beside you.
Salsa Kitchen – Mexican Restaurant
Salsa Kitchen is located on Huay Kaew Rd just past Kad Suan Kaew Mall heading away from the moat. It is a favourite among expats for it’s rather authentic Mexican food and now it appears they are family friendly too with the addition of high chairs! The high chairs come with strap-in but no tray so you’ll have to do the feeding, but it’s better than chasing your kid(s) around the restaurant!
