Why is Karina Resort a great place for families to stay in Chiang Mai?
Honestly, there’s no where else quite like it! Located on a huge swath of land, each part of the resort offers something new, a different feeling and vibe. The resort is designed beautifully with lots of room to run around, bicycles to ride, a small playground, and of course a pool! The grounds are also stunning.
So why else should you stay here when in Chiang Mai?
The rooms were so unique and nice!
Karina Resort offers three types of rooms. The first type are the nature cottages which are nestled amongst a forest and are accessible only by boardwalks and raised walkways. These walkways make it such a unique experiences to go to and from your room.
The nature cottages are good for small families up to three people. There is no room for extra beds in the cottage though, so you’d have to be willing to share a bed! The nature cottages are also best if you want to be close to the pool.
The second type of room are the family cottages. These have up to three beds in them and are good for larger families. This cottages are also located near to the pool.
The third room type which is really great for families is the deluxe room. It’s actually more like a small house than a room! You actually feel like you’re living in a gorgeous housing community while staying here.
We absolutely loved our little house! It had its own separate living room, kitchenette, and wrap around porch with a view! It even came with its own carport. Check out the room photos below.
The only thing that might be an issue for some, is that the deluxe cottages are a far walk from the pool. Not to worry though as Karina Resort has thought of everything! When you first arrive, grab yourself a bicycle from the restaurant and take it to your room and ride around the resort! There are all sorts of bicycle sizes for all ages including some with baby seats.
Room prices
The price promotion is amazing! It’s only 700 baht per night for the nature cottage room which can fit 1 adult and 2 small children or 2 adults and 1 small child. The deluxe cottage rooms are only 1,200 baht per night and can comfortably fit 2 adults and 2 small children. To confirm pricing it’s best to research prices for Karina Resort here or contact them directly.
Also of note, breakfast is included with the room!
The swimming pool
We thought the pool area was just wonderful! We were there during cool season so didn’t need to worry too much about the sun and found the water pleasantly warm. The pool has lounge chairs, umbrellas, and a covered area too.
There was even a BBQ available and you are welcome to bring and cook your own food if you like! You are also welcome to bring and drink your own drinks as there is no bar at the pool area. They will provide ice in a cooler for you though if you like and you can call and order food or drink to the pool area.
The food at Karina Resort is amazing!
The food is easily some of the best Thai and Farang food we have had a resort in Chiang Mai. You MUST try the Hung Lay Curry a curry garlic pork dish. It’s my all time fav and Karina Resort’s tops the best in Chiang Mai. The restaurant is open to the public so you can go anytime. It’s kid friendly with toys and even books for kids to read.
Their pizzas are also tremendously delicious as was honesty every dish we tried. We ate them up before we could photograph them as they tasted so good! You must also try their homemade ice cream. Yum!
The only dish to maybe reconsider would be breakfast. The free breakfast is certainly not the worst we’ve ever had, it’s just not mentionable. We highly, highly recommend the waffles at extra cost which are the BEST ever!
There’s even a farm!
Technically most of the resort is covered in farm land. They grow their own food for the restaurant and have rice paddies too! Tucked away at the front of the resort is where the farm animals are kept. There are mainly goats and buffalo to see and feed if you wish!

Where is Karina Resort?
The location on Google Maps will come up under the name of the restaurant which is Karin & Shor’s Dining & Ice Cream. The resort itself is just behind the restaurant.
From the heart of Chiang Mai, Karina Resort is about half an hour away on the way to San Kampaeng. We suggest that if you are visiting, you may want to rent a car, hire a songtaew, or take a taxi to get here. Otherwise, get that GPS out and get driving!
