Why your family should stay at Baanpong Lodge
This is the perfect resort for a weekend getaway or longer! We’ve been here countless times over the years with and without kids and it’s always a great time. Baanpong has everything you could ask for and after only a short time here you’ll feel immensely relaxed. There’s just something about the place. Kids and teens love it too!
Located near San Kampaeng in the Mae On region, you’ll drive through rice fields with incredible mountain views to get here. Once here, the family run and owned resort will make you feel right at home.

The swimming pool
The pool is an obvious highlight! There’s a poolside bar, restaurant, reading nook and pool loungers too. With the seating in full view of the pool, you’ll always be able to keep an eye on the kids who will probably be water logged by the time they get out. The sides are shallow so little ones can walk around the pool while the big kids and adults get their swim on. Night time swims are okay too!
Baanpong Lodge offers pool towels so you don’t need to worry about getting your room towels all wet. They are offered at reception, but are a first come first serve kind of deal.
Feeling adventurous? Bicycles and motorbikes are free or rent a dune buggy.
Grab a bicycle and get cycling! The surrounding area is simply stunning and well worth exploring. If you are confident, then why not take a motorbike out? Some of the roads heading away from the resort are steep making a motorbike a better choice.
For the really adventurous, you can take out one of the four dune buggies. I’m not sure where you’d take it though, but for certain you’d be given a map of where you’re allowed to go. Inquire with Baanpong Lodge about rental costs.
What are the rooms like at Baanpong Lodge?
The main rooms are set up in a loft style with the bed on the loft. Most rooms have a king size bed with a fan and air conditioner option. We did have to be very mindful of our little one as the barrier between the loft and the ground level was small enough for him to slip through. The stair were also another issue for little kids. They are very steep, narrow, and have no railings, so just be careful!
Each room came with proper fluffy robes and slippers and the bathroom had one of those waterfall showers. So nice! In each room you should get a mini-fridge, a TV, and a crazy big sofa.
The sofa is so big at least two people could sleep on it, or at least the kids could! No need for extra beds here! If you did need many beds, then check out the room below!
The sleep over room! Baanpong Lodge can accommodate very large families
With a projector and hook ups, all you need to being is a laptop and a Netflix subscription and you are set! Teenagers would LOVE it if you booked this place just for them, and if you live here, isn’t this just perfect for a sleep over party?! There are even two more king sized beds not pictured. I think this room can fit at least 10 people, so large families, come on down!
Family rooms
If your family isn’t the Duggar family, then you’d probably prefer the family room. It has bunk beds and is a two leveled castle. How cool is that?! I just wish the lighting had been better so I could get a great photo.
Room prices
As with most hotels and resorts in Thailand, the prices change with the seasons. It’s best to research prices for Baanpong Lodge here or contact them directly.
Food at Baangpong Lodge
The food is just wonderful. They serve a choice between Thai and Swiss food, and we highly recommend the Thai dishes – they are some of the best we’ve ever had! The Swiss or western food is okay; nothing to write home about but it will get the job done! Prices are reasonable for a resort and service is fast – a very important feature when having to feed hungry kids on the go!
