A great spot to bring the kids in Chiang Mai – relax, eat, and play at this outdoor cafe
Cup Fine Day is a favourite place to bring younger children to play and eat. It’s also a great spot for parents who just want to take a break. There’s so much to do and other children to meet that your little ones will be almost always occupied leaving you some rare moments to yourself.

Eat and play
Families love Cup Fine Day because it’s one of few places where parents can put their feet up and relax. Children enjoy coming here because of the freedom they have to play, climb, jump, and build. It’s definitely a top place to take kids in Chiang Mai!
Rope climbing
Safely positioned over soft sand is the tallest rope climber in Chiang Mai! Kids love racing each other up to see who can touch the top first. There’s also a smaller version for younger children to practice on before graduating to the big one!
Trampoline
It’s not a playground in Chiang Mai without a trampoline! Kids of all ages can bounce to their delight under the shaded canopy.
The sandbox
Technically the entire playground is a giant sandbox as the grounds are covered in soft sand. Each morning and throughout the day, the staff will rake the sand into giant sand mountains that the kids can’t resist jumping straight into! Yes, you can expect your kid(s) to come home covered in sand, but it’s all good fun!
Monkey bars, swings, and more!
The playground structures are great for toddlers, and kids up to 7 or eight. My daughter can still use most of the equipment and has lots of fun. Also around the playground are these cool swinging bed like chairs that the kids love to pile onto and be swung or spun around. There’s plenty to keep the kids busy at Cup Fine Day while you chill out and relax.
Seating
The best spot in the house has to be the bamboo huts. Seen in the background of the wooden tables photo, you sit on cushions or mats with your own personal fan to keep you cool. There’s free wifi too! Many parents just hang out here for hours eating and relaxing while the kids keep themselves busy.
There’s also other outdoor tables to sit at and a nice indoor sitting area but you can’t see the kids at all from inside.
Food and Drink
Food
Cup Fine Day’s menu offers lots of snacks such as spring rolls, chicken nuggets, sandwiches, salads and french fries. They’ also have breakfast and mains such as pastas, fried rice, chicken cashew nut, curries and fish dishes. The food has improved in taste and portion size over the years. Prices aren’t too bad either. They range from 75 – 280 baht.
Drinks
First and foremost Cup Fine Day is a coffee shop. Their coffees are quite good, although I find they taste better hot as opposed to iced. The coffees are pricey ranging from 55 – 95 baht, but then again you are also paying for the experience of the playground. The menu also offers smoothies, teas, and local beers.
Birthday parties
Cup Fine Day is a perfect spot for a relaxed birthday party. There’s no fee to host a birthday here, in fact all you have to do is reserve space. Usually, the birthdays take place on the balcony near the alcove. You are welcome to decorate the area with your own supplies. We’ve hosted birthday parties here before and it’s just so easy with no pressure. The staff is very attentive and accommodating.
