The Care Thai Massage and Swimming Pool Chiang Mai
Located within the Ornsirin 3 Moo Baan, this pool is open to the public. It is near to the Care Thai Massage place which apparently gives one of the best massages in Chiang Mai!
The swimming pool has a kiddy pool section, shaded seating on the side and overlooks a lake!
Around the lake are trails where you can walk or jog around and enjoy the beautiful treed cover.
There is a tuck shop here as well and locals say it’s always clean and is a lovely spot to watch the sunset 🙂

Laguna Home Swimming Pool
Inside Languna Home Moo Baan in San Sai is this really nice pool! It has four sections to it! Each section gets progressively deeper so children of all ages can feel confident in the water.
There are also three waterslides!
One is a big kid slide, while the other two are good for toddlers to probably 8 years old.
There are also some water fountain features and a shaded area to sit.
One fallback is that at the time we went, there was no restaurant. You could buy small snack and drinks, but if you were hungry, you’d have to drive quite far or order Grab to get food.
Other than that, it’s a great pool!

World Club Sports Complex and Swimming Pool
World Club is located within World Club Land in Hang Dong and it has a HUGE pool.
It also has the following sports facilities open to the public for hourly rates or a monthly or annual membership:
- Tennis courts
- Indoor badminton courts
- Squash courts (although I couldn’t find them)
- Racketball court
- Muay Thai gym
- Fitness centre
The swimming pool is divided into three sections, each progressively deeper. The kid’s section is enormous and great for kids learning to swim. The next section is good for confident swimmers and has a small waterslide!
Beyond that is an area for swimming laps and diving.
It’s a really nice pool but hardly anywhere to sit on the side or in the shade.
For food, there is no restaurant but there is a tuck shop that sells cold drinks, snacks and ice-cream!

The River Swimming Pool Chiang Mai
Apparently this pool has been a well kept secret for years! The pool is strangely not located near a river at all, but is located within a huge compound in Hang Dong. You can find parking and the pool towards the back of the compound.
The pool is huge with the largest kiddy pool I’ve ever seen! It’s got two levels of depth making this an excellent pool to teach children how to swim. The adult section is long enough to do lengths.
At the River Swimming Pool they have a coffee shop and ice cream available, however food is not served here. You may bring in your own snacks if you wish.
The best thing about this pool is how affordable it is to swim! There are also two playgrounds, a skateboard ramp, and a football pitch.

Mira Cuisine & Pool Chiang Mai
Very close to the Chiang Mai train station is this gem. Not only do they have a pool, but also a playground and a two hole mini-putt golf course! The pool itself is lovely and has a kiddy pool perfect for toddlers!
Mira also has great food, although even if you order food you mus still pay to swim. That’s okay though because the food is very affordable. Pool entrance fee does not include towels, however you can swim for as long as you like. There are a few lounge chairs with umbrellas to provide shade and there is also a table to enjoy lunch at by the pool.
Mira is also an apartment residence and resort if you wish to recommend friends to stay here!

The Pool Terrace, Chiang Mai
This lovely pool is located in San Kamphaeng and is a salt water chlorine mix. It’s also got a café attached to it where you can order very reasonably priced (approximately 40-140 baht) drinks and meals.
What’s absolutely the BEST about this pool is that it is largely covered! This means you can swim in the shade (yes!) and also be protected from getting rained on while swimming if that’s a worry that you have.
The pool adult and child friendly. In the background of the photo, you can see the covered toddler or small child swimming area. The pool even has stools in the water right next to it so you can sit and watch your kids play while you are relaxing in the water too!
The edge of the pool is shallow for swimmers gaining confidence to hang out.
Along the far edge is a roped off swimmers lane which is great! Although, only one person can use it at a time.
The pool also offers toys, flutter boards, noodles, towels (20 baht rental) and goggles (20 baht rental).

Begin Coffee Cafe and Playspace
Begin Coffee Café is far more than a café. It is the best place for kids in the city at the moment. It has two swimming pools, a playground, an outdoor games centre where the board games are quite literally, GIANT!
You’ve got to see it all and you can get a sneak peak right here in our full review of Begin Coffee.
The smaller pool is essentially an enormous Jacuzzi and is also good for less confident swimmers. The larger pool doesn’t really have a shallow end, so kids must be confident in the water. It is great for adults who want to swim laps!

Shangri-la Resort Swimming Pool Chiang Mai
The Shangri-la is a popular resort in Chiang Mai that offers the ability to the public to enjoy their pretty impressive swimming pool. Access to the pool is included with any of their infamous brunch or lunch buffets. After you chow down on what is arguably the best buffet in the city, you can head to the pool to veg, or work off some of the incredible food.
Recently, hotel management has been offering swimming promotions without the need to eat. You can check their website for details. The promotions change periodically so I don’t want to say exact costs but they do offer individual swimming passes or family passes.
The Shangri-la is also a resort that you may wish to recommend to friends to come and stay! The rooms are large and spacious, it’s right downtown Chiang Mai close to all the action, and obviously you’d have unlimited access to the water slide and splash pad!
Hours: Daily 8 am – 6 pm

Vdara Resort Pool Chiang Mai
A favourite among locals and foreigners as one of the best swimming pools for kids in Chiang Mai is Vdara Resort’s swimming pool. They happily open their pool to the public daily. It is a nice pool that has a separate kid’s pool, although it is small and you can only see your kids playing in it from one angle.
The pool has a large shaded seating area with pool chairs along with poolside service. They offer a very limited food and drink menu and they don’t seem to mind if you bring in small snacks. The food is very reasonably priced!
The pool fee DOES now include towels.
Vdara is also a resort that you may wish to recommend to friends to come and stay! The rooms are large and spacious and they offer free bicycles for rent and transportation into town.

Ang Pao Cafe and Pool San Sai
We just discovered this swimming pool in Chaing Mai and absolutely love it! I mean, how can you not love a water slide?! Seeing as there are few and far pools that have them, Ang Pao’s owners must have known what they were doing when they decided to include it in their swimming pool plans.
Ang Pao Cafe and Pool has a kiddy pool section that was perfect for our one and a half year old. He could stand easily and there were bars for him to hold onto so he felt really comfortable which is so important for a beginner swimmer!
The water temperature was perfect – not warm and not too cold – and I believe the water was a bromine or chlorine system and the chemicals were perfectly balanced. No body got red or itchy eyes. As for shade, there is plenty of it on the back side and along the side which you can see in the photo. There are also loungers and a chill out area on the second floor balcony with very clear views of the pool.
We’ll definitely be going back here again:)

Eco Resort Pool Chiang Mai
Located within a hotel just outside the heart of Chiang Mai is this resort like getaway complete with diving blocks, lane swimming, loungers and a rather large kiddy pool!
Open to the public, your entrance fee covers towel service and access to the fitness centre. The cost may push the family budget, and in fact it may just be cheaper to stay here instead!
There are plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas around to keep out of the sun. The only thing this pool is missing is a swim up bar!

The Lamona View Pool Mae Rim
We were recently out for a day trip in Mae Rim and came upon this relatively unknown swimming pool located just behind the Mae Rim Plaza. This pool is an absolute gem and it’s only 2 years old. It’s the only pool I can think of around Chiang Mai that has a shaded kiddy pool! There’s even a Jacuzzi!
It’s also wheelchair accessible being so thoughtful as to have a designated private wheelchair changing room and bathroom.
The larger swimming pool is great for length or lap swimming with the deep end partially in the shade. The deep end is 150 cm in depth while the shallow end is about 10 cm shallower than that. Or maybe just dipping in the pool is your thing, then you’ll love the lounge chairs along the side of the pool to chillax on.
If shade is more your style, then you can enjoy the far end of the pool which is completely shady as is the kiddy pool where there are chairs set up for parents to sit and watch the kids.
As for food and drink, you are only allowed to bring water into the swimming pool area. All other food and drinks must be purchased at their in-house mini mart. No outside food or drink (except water) is allowed.
Us and the kids really enjoyed out swim here, and when we’re out in Mae Rim for another hot adventure, we’ll definitely drop into Lamona View Pool for a dip!

Mina Garden Villa Resort pool Hang Dong
This resort is open to the public and is located directly across from Vdara Resort, which used to be an incredibly popular swimming pool (until the management decided to make it available only to guests). If you have any swimming coupons left, you are still allowed to use them, but once they are gone, there’s no getting access to Vdara’s pool anymore!
Mina Garden Villa Resort’s pool offers a great alternative and honestly, it’s better in many ways, except that for whatever reason, they don’t serve drinks or food. Crazy huh?! So we would suggest you come here after a big meal and bring your own snacks and water. They can’t possibly complain that you’re bringing in your own food if they don’t offer any, right?
What is great about the pool is that it is salt water, they have flipper boards, lots of shade, lounge chairs and a kiddy pool! The setting is also beautiful and relaxing. The cost of entry also includes a towel 🙂
If you’re interested in staying here they have family rooms and breakfast is included. It appears to be a very popular destination! Check out Mina Garden Villa Resort on agoda to see more.

Anaview Restaurant and Pool San Sai
About a 30-40 minute drive from Chaing Mai is this beautiful infinity pool that overlooks rice paddies! Anaview Restaurant’s pool looks like the place to be even well into the evenings, and at it’s low price, and stunning surroundings it’s easy to see why.
It’s only 50 baht per person! Perfect for a family budget – both adults and children pay the same.
The pool also has a large kiddy pool and has the potential to be great for teenagers. It appears the pool lights up at night and people enjoy swimming while listening to music coming from the restaurant.
As for shade, there is some covered seating on one side, but it’s very limited. Better to be in the nice cool water, don’t you think?!
NOTE: The restaurant is no longer open so you must bring your own food

Baanpong Lodge Resort and Pool Sam Kampaeng
This is an old favourite of ours and one of the best swimming pools for kids in Chiang Mai. We first heard about Baanpong Lodge a few years ago through a friend who was hosting their son’s birthday here (it’s a GREAT place to host a birthday party for kids or adults by the way!).
While this swimming pool is located about 45 minutes to an hour outside of town in Sam Kampaeng, it’s not too far and yet just far enough to feel like you’re on a mini holiday. It is a resort after all! Click here to see how much it would cost to spend the night! We always feel so relaxed here and spend as many of the day light hours as we can in our near the water relaxing in the lounge chairs or by the bar (they have a rather surprising selection of beers).
Now, there isn’t a kiddy pool, but the stairs that lead into the pool, wrap around the sides of the pool creating a shallow area for little kids to walk along. It’s honestly just enough for beginner swimmers to get a feel for a big pool and to still feel grounded and safe.
Maybe we’ll see you here one day!
Read on to find out more about Baanpong Lodge – it’s a perfect family getaway in Chiang Mai!

Moo baan Baan Wang Tan swimming pool
This is a wonderful and huge pool perfect for lane swimming. It’s a popular pool for local swimming lessons as well. Swim Stars hosts many of their lessons here as to other private swimming teachers.
The pool is located within one of the most popular moo baans in the city right next to Phufinn in the Lake restaurant, but is open to the public.
You may be curious to know if there’s a kiddy pool. Unfortunately there isn’t, and in fact the shallow end is rather deep. I would not recommend this pool for beginner swimmers who are short, or little, unless you plan on being in the water with them at all times.
Another concern is that there is barely any shade covering the pool or the sidelines, so be prepared to be in the water! It’s so much cooler and refreshing.
This is one of our go to pools, so hope to see you there!

Golden Elephant Resort pool Chiang Mai
Our family stayed here over Songkran in 2018 and again in 2021 last year. We loved it so much we extended our stay both times! While it is a resort, it is also home to one of Chiang Mai’s two mini-golf courses. You’ve got to check out The Minigolf CNX 18 hole course if you’re like me and you love to putt!
[Golden Elephant Resort now also goes by The Minigolf Resort & Restaurant]
Well it also turns out that you don’t have to be guests at the resort to swim, but we highly recommend staying here as it’s perfect for families. The setting of Golden Elephant’s pool makes you feel like you are miles away from the city and home so you immediately relax. See if the The Minigolf Resort & Restaurant is the perfect place for your family too!
The downside is that there is absolutely no shallow pool at all. If your children are not confident swimmers, then I don’t recommend this particular pool, however if they are, pull up a sun umbrella and let them swim to their heart’s content!

New Concept Hotel swimming pool Chiang Mai
I can’t thank my co-worker enough for introducing us to this pool. It’s AMAZING! There’s nothing quite like it in Chiang Mai. You feel like you’re in some special resort in Phuket or something. The sides of the pool are made to look and feel like you’re at the beach so you simply walk into the pool as if you were walking on sand.
It has two main large pools. One is specifically for children, while the other more deeper one is meant for adults. Due to its immense size, many swimming teachers hold lessons here.
As an added bonus also not seen anywhere else in the city, it an enormous heated Jacuzzi pool! This thing is so big it could hold 8 fully grown elephants. It even lights up like a disco at night.
There’s even a swim up pool bar with full service. What more could you ask for?! Well, maybe your family would like to stay here! And you can. Not only is New Concept a condo development, it’s also a hotel that operates in an airbnb style serviced apartment. Check out New Concept on Agoda to learn more!

Veranda High Resort infinity pool Samoeng
This pool used to be and probably still is the most well-known resort pool in all of Chiang Mai. It’s a go to instagrammer spot – the perfect selfie spot. Veranda also had one of the city’s first infinity pools and it’s location cannot (and arguably still can’t) be beat.
You will be up in the mountains, heck, it will feel like you are swimming on top of a mountain with the most incredible scenery surrounding every view point. The pool itself is gorgeous.
There a very shallow area for toddlers and infants and the regular infinity pool too. However there are some major concerns.
First, it’s bloody expensive. As in 500 baht per person no exceptions expensive. The price includes a towel and a free (small) drink. Secondly, there is virtually no shade. Thirdly, it’s a very fancy resort, so the kids had better be on their best behaviour i.e. no jumping or splashing around too much. Finally, the food is outrageously pricey.
But hey! Lots of people and families still go because, well, it’s beautiful and has a view you’ll never forget. I can still recall having my breath taken away by not only the pool, but the resort itself. Why not take a look at what a stay at Veranda High Resort would look like?

Centre of the Universe pool Chiang Mai
Centre of the Universe Swimming Pool and Resort is known for its huge salt water swimming pool and large kiddy pool. They also have a swim club for those who are serious about swimming – as in lap swimming in marked lanes.
The main pool is 25 meters long by 16 metres wide and the depth varies from 1 metre at the shallow end to 1.5 meters at the deep end. Most children aged 6 years and over can stand in the shallow end of the main pool with their head clear of the water.
For younger swimmers, there’s always the separate shallow kid’s pool to learn to swim in or splash around!
The managers of this pool take great care to ensure their pool’s water is always clean and staff are trained to deal with swimming or health related issues at the pool.
When I say they take pool water cleanliness seriously, I mean it. Water is tested daily on site, monthly by a professional lab, and by Chiang Mai University labs every 3 months. It’s so clean their pool water is deemed potable!
In addition to this attention to detail, all of their staff are fully trained in life saving techniques and first aid and are given refresher training every 6 months. In addition to this, spot checks are carried out at random at least once every quarter.
Staff also receive regular training in how to recognize when someone is having a heart attack, or is suffering from a stroke, and how to get them out of the pool safely, and to contact the necessary medical services.
So Centre of the Universe is sounding like the safest pool in the city!
With all the efforts they put into their swimming pool, Centre of the Universe can stand by their entrance fees.
Pool entrance fees:
It costs 200 baht for adults and 120 baht for children no matter their age, for an all day pass. (After 4:30 children must adhere to lane swim rules or play in the kid’s pool).
There is also a family pass which for a family of 2 adults and 2 children costs 600 Baht. (After 4:30 children must adhere to lane swim rules or play in the kid’s pool).
If you only plan on staying for a short while, entrance is 120 baht no matter your age for a 1.5 hour swim. (From 10 am – 4:30 pm)
After 4:30 pm prices are reduced to 100 baht for adults to use the lap lanes, or 100 baht for children to use the kid’s pool.
You may be curious about towels – cost of entry does not include towels. They are available for rent for 30 baht apiece.
They do offer memberships and coupon packages which make swimming here more affordable. For example, if you purchase a pack of 10 passes, the price of entry is reduced to 85 baht! You can check out all their special packages on their website!
Hours: Family swimming times 10 am – 4:30 pm daily. Lap swimming and children’s pool open until 7 pm.
Cost:
Day pass – adults 200 baht and children 120 baht.
1.5 hour pass – 120 baht for all ages
After 4:30 pass – 100 baht for all ages

Nanon swimming pool Hang Dong
Out in the middle of nowhere – seriously, we’re so lucky that my daughter’s school is right beside it, otherwise we would have never found this pool – is one of the best swimming pools in Chiang Mai!
Designed as a resort style fitness centre, Nanon has nearly everything and the owners are so accommodating. Recently we arrived for a swim, jumped in, and not even 10 minutes later a crazy storm moved in. They didn’t charge for swimming where other places would have. The owner has even offered for us to keep our swimming suits on site so that we’ll always have our gear ready to go!
