Lotus’s Kham Thiang Indoor Playground
Everyone’s favourite indoor playground in Chiang Mai is located near the popular JJ Market in Tesco Lotus’s. To find it you’ll need to go to the second floor, all the way to the back left hand corner. It’s the newest indoor playground and boasts some pretty cool features.
There are trampolines, a ball pit, slides for all sizes and ages; all completely padded and safe. Parents are allowed in with small children, well any age actually, so you can be a big kid too!
The highlight of this playground in Chiang Mai has to be the bouncy castle! It’s huge. Kids can throw themselves around safely in here and adults can chase your kids around too. It’s easily most kids’ favourite part.
Along with all that is an imagination station play area where kids can play with Lego, play house, pretend to be a shop keep, go shopping at the supermarket, cook and more! In the corner is a soft padded area for crawlers to crawl around and it make a perfect place for babies to practice walking.

After School Playground
The newest edition to playgrounds in Chiang Mai is After School playground! Located near Treeflip and Let Grow, this is a really fun place to play. It’s an indoor/outdoor playground in that it’s covered and protected from most of the elements but has no walls.
There’s a pirate ship, rope tunnels to crawl through, tons of slides, a trampoline and a toddler section as well. The bottom is covered in the softest sand and you can purchase sand castle toys too! Unfortunately, you aren’t allowed to bring in your own toys.
There is seating around the play area along with an indoor cafe with air conditioning. It does get super hot and sweaty sitting around and playing, so make sure you bring lots of water. They have some industrial fans, but hopefully they’ll install some more.
Along with the cafe serving snacks, coffee and other cold drinks, there’s a small shop near the playground that has popcorn and beer! They also sell toys and other kid friendly cold drinks.
There’s also a party room that you can rent out if you wish to hold birthday parties here! It’s only 500 baht!

Fun Planet @ Central Airport Plaza
Check out this fun playground! Fun Planet in Central Airport Plaza can be found on the 4th floor next to the movie theatre. Everything is new and it is the most well planned indoor play area in Chiang Mai. It’s got some pretty incredible stuff for every kid – big kids too! I had an absolute blast running around with my toddler and tried everything. Neither my kids nor I wanted to leave this indoor playground in Chiang Mai.
One of the coolest things is a pneumatic ball machine that sucks the balls in and shoots them out! Kids can hide in the hexagon maze thing and shoot balls at their friends, or they can fill the hanging alien ship with balls and press a button to dump all the balls out!
Kids will love climbing up and through the play-scape and sliding down the slides, but the best thing of all has to be…
The indoor toboggan hill! This is the closet to tubing down a snow hill some kids will ever get. My daughter couldn’t get enough and it’s sure to be a very popular activity at Fun Planet.
The playground is also really toddler friendly with two separate areas just for them. There is also a musical instrument section where kids can play on an enormous xylophone and dance on a huge piano!
To develop kids’ creativity, there’s even a kinetic sand zone for those builders at heart. There is giant Lego, and a kitchen area too! In addition, there are builder stations and many toys children can play with to get their imaginations going.
If you pay for 2 hours of play time or more, your child gets a free cooking activity included for free! The ‘cooking’ activities don’t actually involve cooking, more like decorating items such as the ones advertised above and then it gets cooked by the staff and taken home to eat as a nice snack!
If you are looking for a quieter play area for infants or toddlers, Central Airport Plaza also has two infant soft play areas also located on the 4th floor. One is near Matcha Coffee while the other is tucked away near the food court.

Play Land @ Fun City Central Festival Mall
This is a great indoor playground in Chiang Mai. It has something for everybody! Play Land can be found in Central Festival Mall on the 4th Floor beside the food court. Look for the Fun City sign and blinking lights. Your kids will want to stop and play the arcade rides and games as you head towards the play area near the back. There’s even a special arcade section for teenagers too. If they love to sing, they will love the private karaoke pods.
The kids playground is over two stories tall and boasts the longest slides in the city! There are ball rooms and trampolines to jump on as well. Parents are welcome to join in the fun if your child is two or under. There is a separate toddler play area with pretend cooking and carousal area where the tiny ones can safely run around. Moms and dads are allowed into this area to play too for a small fee. Be aware that kids and parents must be wearing socks*!
There are open lockers available where you are encouraged to keep water or snacks. Kids can always access this area if they get hungry or thirsty. Just outside the jungle gym there are benches and chairs for parents to hang out while the monkeys monkey around.
If you have some shopping to do the staff also offer a call service. Simply leave your phone number, your name and the name of your child with them and they will call you if there are any concerns or if they need to go to the bathroom. The bathroom is a bit of a walk and you’ll have to return to take them. Keep in mind this is not a babysitting service as the staff will not be actively watching your child. The service could be more useful for older kids.

Maya Fantasia [CLOSED]
Fantasia can be found on the 4th floor of Maya Mall downtown Chiang Mai. It offers lots of soft play options and is really suited towards younger children, although my 5 year old at the time really enjoyed it too. The slides right into the ball pit are a bit hit as is the trampoline.
There are also a couple carousel rides the kids love to ride on. You can also find pretend kitchen and construction areas with toys for kids to get their imaginations going. While it is catered to one to five year olds, older siblings will enjoy the arcade.
There’s a large variety of arcade games all geared towards children. You won’t find the typical shooting games! Instead there’s air hockey, racing games, skeeball, and rides.

Kiddy Land [CLOSED]
For 100 baht your child will be free to romp around for as long as they like! Moms and dads can lounge on the chairs just outside. As far as I know, parents are not allowed inside, which is why the facility is perfect for independent toddlers and kids up to 5 years old. And remember, don’t forget sockies*! If the playground fails to entertain, the arcade just beside the playground certainly will. Attracted like moths to a flame, children will flock and plead to ride the disco vehicles and try their luck at the plethora of games. There are arcade games for teens as well. At 10 baht a go, you may find yourself having some fun too.
When planning trip here, know that while it’s usually empty during the week, Kiddy Land can get pretty packed on the weekends. Expect to see lots of local families hanging out here to escape the heat.
Finding Kiddy Land can be an adventure all on its own. Located in what you’ll soon discover is a maze of a mall, the playground is at the back end on Level 2 in Kad Suan Kaew. Making the effort to find this place is totally worth it. This is the only indoor play facility that DOES NOT have a time limit! How amazing is that?!
Hours: Daily 10 am – 9 pm
Cost: 100 baht NO time limit!

Big C Supercenters
One thing Thailand does really well is keep children entertained and their parents just a bit saner. Inside each of the Big C supermarkets you will find small soft play areas and arcades. They are usually located near the food court and are such life savers!
Imagine grocery shopping without the tantrums and the whining, ‘Are we done yet? I wanna go home.’ Imagine getting your shopping done in record time. Even better, know that your son or daughter will be tired out and might go to bed that much easier at the end of the day.
Recently new height restrictions were introduced. Children must now be at least 90 cm tall and not taller than 135 cm to play!
Big C Hang Dong
Socks are NOT required here, but we recommend you have some on hand anyways. Parents are not allowed into the play zone so children must be comfortable on their own. The rate is 60 baht for 40 minutes of supervised play. You can leave your phone number with the attendants and get your shopping done!
Afterwards, have a go in the arcade. The arcades are designed for kids 12 and under but are still lots of fun. Game play is affordable at 10 to 20 baht a go!
Big C Super Highway
This super centre was remodeled to include an ENORMOUS play area! It takes up nearly half of the second floor! Here you can find al sorts of arcade games for all ages.
You can also find an indoor playground area which is perfect for young kids. Once inside, the children have an hour to play! Not sure I’d just leave them in here while you shop though as it’s not the staff’s job to babysit the kids.
Hours: Daily 9 am – midnight (all locations)
Cost:
60 baht for 40 minutes at Big C Hang Dong
100 baht per hour at Big C Super Highway

Tesco Hang Dong
Just south of the city, down the 108 Road, is Tesco. On the second floor is Jungle Kiddy Land which has been open now for about a year. It’s another sanity saver if your kids hate shopping!
This soft play area has nearly everything a kid could dream of. Jungle Kiddy Land will keep your child entertained with a spinning tea cup ride, a ball zone, a trampoline, a small bouncy castle and the best part; a balloon room! If you’ve got a mini-engineer or an artist on your hands, there’s a Duplo building zone and a drawing area. Maybe your little one is into sports? Speedy kids can zip around on tricycles. Little gamers can enjoy a completely kid friendly arcade. Teens and adults who are kids at heart would enjoy it too.
